About Davina

K. Davina Frick helps people recognize connections, loosen constraints, and discover possibilities for greater fulfillment and impact. She describes this work as illumination: bringing curiosity, listening, and a commitment to helping others pursue their own aspirations.

A professor at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, Davina connects health economics, leadership, and human values. Her research examines the costs, consequences, and value of health care. Across her teaching, educational leadership, and editorial work, she seeks to make knowledge useful and create conditions in which people can contribute and grow.

Her approach to coaching and mentoring is facilitative and developmental. She helps people explore what matters to them, recognize patterns, and consider possibilities they may not yet see. Inclusion, authenticity, and the relationship between values and action are recurring themes in her work.

Davina is writing The Lambda Factor: Loosening Constraints for Yourself and Others to Maximize Fulfillment and Impact. Through thoughts on tHERSday, poetry, speaking, and conversation, she explores what people notice, what holds them back, and what becomes possible when they have room to grow.
